Credit card companies want to own people and sadly many people are "owned" these days. There is a personal accountability aspect here, but people shouldn't be hounded day in and day out from credit card companies. Young people especially are constantly bombarded by credit companies and they often times don't realize the future pitfalls for having the ability to buy whatever you want, right now.

Just like you, I've experienced life getting in the way all year. Health problems, car repairs, etc. they all get in the way of our debt reduction plans.

I know exactly how you're feeling. People plan and then life happens. The money isn't always there for an emergency and the safety net of credit solve one problem while creating another. My debt reduction was rolling along until the summer, and then went up and down between months. It is hard to try to move two steps forward and something makes you jump back too quickly. I am almost back on track again though where I left off at the beginning of the summer and hope to continue to move forward. We all fall down sometimes but getting back up and pushing forward is what matters. Keep pushing on though, that's what matters.

Problems always seem to come when you think things are going good. It is almost like a way for things to balance out. Investments are great and I see a lot of things I would love to get into, but right now the priority for me is debt. Sometimes we try to plan and then life happens.

I very sorry to hear about your car. I'm going through similar issues with my car. Just praying that I can keep pushing it until October. Good Luck!

I am interested in what you have been doing in this area. I feel the same way about a second job. I have 2 kids and the thought of spending 20 hours more away from them in the evenings and weekends would be a very hard thing for me to do.
